Jakarta March 5, 2024 - The Whoosh High-Speed Train once again achieved a milestone by successfully serving 2 million passengers. This accomplishment was made possible through various efforts and innovations carried out by KCIC together with all stakeholders to enhance services and public interest in using Whoosh after more than three months of operation.
The CEO of KCIC, Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi, expressed gratitude to all passengers who have chosen Whoosh as their preferred mode of transportation for traveling between Jakarta and Bandung. KCIC is continuously improving its services to meet various customer expectations, including adjusting the number of trips by adding schedules to make the Whoosh train more convenient for people who want to travel from Jakarta to Bandung.
"The number of trips is gradually increasing, starting from 14 regular trips per day in October, 28 trips in November, and 40 trips per day since December. Even during certain moments such as weekends and holiday seasons, the Whoosh train can reach up to 48 schedules per day," Dwiyana stated.
Not only that, the implementation of the Dynamic Pricing scheme starting from February 2024 is also considered very helpful for passengers to plan their trips more in line with their needs and purchasing power. It has been proven that there is a 16% increase in occupancy on Whoosh trips that implement dynamic pricing compared to January.
Slowly but surely, passengers are starting to try, enjoy, and eventually use Whoosh services regularly. The efficiency and comfort offered are some of the added values that make Whoosh stand out. Various innovations are introduced through collaborations with tourist locations, Intermoda services with various transportation operators, and the provision of commercial areas.
Currently, one of the things that is also continuously being developed is the integration between modes to improve accessibility and convenience for the public to and from Whoosh Station.
In 2024, KCIC has established a partnership with Metro Pasundan bus to enhance transportation mode integration at Padalarang station. Additionally, KCIC has collaborated with Dishub Jabar in the provision plan of Green Intermoda at Tegalluar station in the form of electric buses.
Efforts to improve accessibility continue to be made, with the introduction of Green Intermoda being a part of KCIC's support for the implementation of green energy in the transportation sector, as has been applied in the Whoosh High-Speed Train series.
Not stopping there, KCIC is also continuously exploring opportunities for cooperation with various tourist areas, as seen in the partnership with 12 tourist destinations in West Java. This collaboration has proven to increase tourist visits to these destinations and add value for passengers.
Dwiyana explained that the achievement of up to 2 million passengers proves the success of KCIC in encouraging private and public transportation users to switch to more environmentally friendly mass transportation. The traffic congestion on the roads can also be reduced because of the number of people switching to Whoosh.
"The trust given by the public to the Whoosh high-speed train serves as a driving force and motivation for us to continue innovating to provide the best for passengers. Therefore, collaborations and new innovations will continue to be presented for passengers," concluded Dwiyana.
