E-Ticket
According to Joni Martinus, VP Public Relations of KAI, the fares that will be set range from Rp250,000 to Rp350,000. However, Martinus believes that these fares are still being evaluated in various aspects. On October 14, 2023, the fares for the high-speed train were determined. The initial fare charged is Rp150,000 as a promotional fare during the early stages of operation. This fare is for the premium economy class on the travel route from Halim Station to Tegalluar Station and already includes the feeder train ticket when high-speed train users transit at Padalarang Station towards Bandung Station (the center of Bandung City).
Ticket reservations currently available for Whoosh can be made through the official KCIC website (ticket.kcic.co.id), the Whoosh application developed by KCIC, Access by KAI, and digital banking applications. The boarding system used by KCIC uses QR code scanning to the gate machine installed at the station departure gate. This system will automatically close 5 minutes before departure, so tickets held can become invalid if passengers arrive late.
Railway Facilities
The KRL KCIC400AF passenger train is located at Halim Station, the western terminus station where passengers board and disembark in Jakarta. The rolling stock used by Whoosh is the KCIC400AF electric multiple unit (EMU) train. The KCIC400AF is a variant of the high-speed train based on the Fuxing CR400AF, manufactured by CRRC Qingdao Sifang, a rolling stock manufacturing company from China. The KCIC400AF electric train is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 420 km/h (261 mph). This train is uniquely designed with Indonesian characteristics, resembling the snout of a Komodo dragon on the exterior and adorned with the Megamendung Batik from Cirebon on the interior, earning it the nickname "Red Komodo." The KCIC400AF high-speed train is designed to minimize noise and vibrations, withstand fire, floods, earthquakes, and foreign object attacks.
In addition to operating 10 trainsets of high-speed trains, KCIC also operates 1 trainset of inspection trains. The fleet delivery began in August 2022 and arrived in Indonesia by the end of August.
The Diesel Electric Locomotive DF4D (Locomotive Numbering in Indonesia: CC 207 23 01) was also imported from China and is used as an auxiliary locomotive when there are operational issues with the EMU KCIC400AF on the KCJB line. Meanwhile, the DF4B locomotive, which was completed for the high-speed train project, has been returned to its home country, China. Originally, this locomotive belonged to China Railway.
