Handeuleum Island [Puau Handeuleum]
Pulau Handeuleum is situated among several small islands at the northeastern tip of the Ujung Kulon peninsula coast. It is one of the islands within the Ujung Kulon National Park. Pulau Handeuleum is also recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with Pulau Panaitan and Pulau Peucang.
ATTRACTIONS
Pulau Handeuleum is an island rich in diverse mangrove species. On Pulau Handeuleum, there is a tranquil location that offers a journey through the river to enjoy various types of forests, wildlife species, and marshy areas. Tourist activities on Pulau Handeuleum can be enjoyed by canoeing along the Cigenter River amidst the mangrove forest, with the chirping of birds adding to the beauty and naturalness. At the head of the river, there is a view of the Cigenter waterfall.
Panaitan Island [Pulau Panaitan]
Pulau Panaitan is formed by a pristine forest with various types of wildlife. The coastal area of this island is rocky and wide with white sandy beaches, which protect the beautiful coral reefs covered by forests and various wild animals such as deer, wild boars, monkeys, pythons, and birds. Some types of freshwater crocodiles and giant lizards can also be found here. One of the high hills known as Gunung Raksa is where ancient Hindu statues are found at its peak. Panaitan is also recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Pulau Peucang and Pulau Handeueleum.
ATTRACTIONS
Pulau Panaitan and the large bay in the southern part of the island offer world-class waves that can be used for surfing, one of which is "One Palm Point," famous for its perfect breaking waves on shallow reefs. This bay offers the challenge of left-hand waves and provides ample opportunities for surfing. When the west season arrives and the weather is good, the bay on the west side of Panaitan Island is the best choice for surfing. In addition to surfing, Pulau Panaitan also has several excellent diving locations at the northern and eastern ends of the island, around the rocky coral reefs near Legon Butun. Diving in this area is not recommended or recommended for beginners.
At the end of Java Island, there is a cultural tourism area on Mount Raksa and a religious tourism site called Sanghyang Sirah. The Ganesha statue located at the peak of Mount Raksa is the main attraction due to its unique shape compared to other statues in Indonesia. Additionally, there is a religious tourism site in the Shanghyang Sirah area that is popular among visitors.
