"In addition to promoting Indonesian tourism and supporting the achievement of targets for foreign tourist visits, especially from the Netherlands, this activity is also carried out as a pre-event for Indonesia's participation in the largest tourism exhibition in the world, namely ITB Berlin, which in 2024 will be held on 5-7 March 2024 in Berlin," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga.
Director of Regional Tourism Marketing II of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf, Cecep Rukendi, hopes that the sellers who are also industry players who are participants in ITB Berlin 2024 can maximize Sales Mission activities in Amsterdam and meet potential business partners, especially partners from Garuda Indonesia Amsterdam.
"So, apart from conveying the latest information about Indonesian tourism, there is also the latest information regarding destinations and flights between Indonesia and the Netherlands and updates from Atlas Beach Bali. "The main activity is the B2B Table-Top Meeting as an event to introduce and offer Indonesian products and tour packages to potential buyers in the Netherlands," said Cecep.
Cecep explained that the Netherlands is one of the markets that has a stable number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia. From year to year, visits by foreign tourists from the Netherlands are relatively stable.
In 2023, the number of foreign tourists visiting from the Netherlands to Indonesia will reach 250,201 (an increase of 113 percent) compared to 2019 of 215,287. This shows a strong recovery process in the tourism sector.
Apart from that, in terms of connectivity, the Netherlands is the only country that has direct flights with the state-owned airline, namely Garuda Indonesia.
"Apart from collaborating with Garuda Indonesia, we are also collaborating with the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague and Atlas Beach Bali which supports the activation of Sales Mission activities which is also a form of collaborative marketing between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf and various stakeholders in the tourism sector," said Cecep.
It is hoped that this activity can continue to improve the image of Indonesian tourism, as well as promote various Indonesian tourism destinations to foreign markets, especially the Netherlands. Apart from that, it also boosts sales of tourism packages from Indonesia, especially for the Dutch market, which in the end can increase the number of tourist visits from the Netherlands and Europe to Indonesia, of course with priority using the proud airline, Garuda Indonesia.
