Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Promotes Mandalika Through "Wonderful Indonesia Trip in Lombok"

Jakarta, 1 December 2023 - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf) is holding a familiarization trip (famtrip) entitled "Wonderful Indonesia Trip in Lombok" for travel influencers and media from several countries in the Asian region Pacific.


"Wonderful Indonesia Trip in Lombok" is an effort to increase tourist visits from the Asia Pacific region to Indonesia.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, in his statement, Friday (1/12/2023) explained that this activity was a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Scoot airline which is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines , which aims to promote Indonesian destinations, especially Mandalika, for tourists from countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy held a familiarization trip (famtrip) entitled "Wonderful Indonesia Trip in Lombok" for travel influencers and media from several countries in the Asia Pacific region, Lombok, (1/12/2023).

"The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy continues to collaborate with partners to promote Indonesia, including airlines that have flight routes from market focus countries to Indonesia. "It is hoped that this can encourage economic revival, create jobs and open up the widest possible business opportunities," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga.

In touching the Asia Pacific market, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf has participated in the PATA Travel Mart 2023 event organized by the Pacific Asia Travel Association in India in October 2023.

This time, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy had the opportunity to 'pick up the ball' by inviting travel influencers and journalists to visit Lombok Island while introducing one of the Super Priority Tourism Destinations, namely Mandalika.

Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, said that this famtrip will be held from 27 November to 3 December 2023. Participants who will participate consist of 2 travel influencers from Malaysia (Kerol Izwan and Zarnizar), 1 Escape media journalist from Australia (John Burfitt), and 1 Thairath media journalist from Thailand (Nisarut).

"Bali has become top of mind for tourists from the Asia Pacific region when traveling to Indonesia. Therefore, we would like to introduce another destination that is no less interesting, namely Lombok, especially the Mandalika area which is one of the 5 Super Priority Destinations. "Through this famtrip, we want to convey the message that foreign tourists from the Asia Pacific region can add Lombok to their travel list to Indonesia," said Made.

Made also explained that tourists in the Asia Pacific region can go to Lombok with the Scoot airline which has a flight route to Lombok via Singapore.

Destinations in Lombok offer exotic places, various activities, and various types of accommodation from homestays to luxury resorts. This shows that currently Lombok is very ready to be visited by foreign tourists.

Ni Made also added that the implementation of the famtrip this time was supported by various partners, namely A&T Holidays, The Kayana Beach Lombok, and Pullman Lombok Merujani Mandalika Beach Resort. Famtrip participants' itineraries have been well prepared by A&T Holidays as a travel agent in Lombok for inbound and outbound tourists since 1992.

Later, participants will carry out snorkeling activities in the Gili Islands area which consists of 3 small islands, namely Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air which are famous for their charming underwater views.

Exciting adventures in nature will also continue the next day at Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu waterfalls. This waterfall, which is located at the foot of Mount Rinjani, has a legend as the bath of the Goddess Anjani.

Next, participants will be invited to learn about Lombok culture by visiting Ende Village, which is the home of the Sasak tribe, an indigenous tribe of the people of Lombok Island. Not only that, participants will also visit Sukarara Village, which is a village that produces typical Lombok songket weaving crafts whose products have penetrated the international market.

While in Lombok, participants will also experience a stay that will definitely be memorable. They will stay at The Kayana Beach Lombok which has 32 villas with private pools. This luxury accommodation has views of Kecinan Beach with white sand and clear sea water, suitable for snorkeling and diving activities.
