Jambi, 17 March 2024 - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno encourages strengthening the development of the tourism and creative economy sector in Jambi by presenting "Kelana Nusantara" as an effort to improve community welfare.
Kelana Nusantara is a place to absorb the aspirations of creative economy players. This forum is used as a forum for accommodating aspirations from below or known as Bottom Up to later be used as input and evaluation material for future development
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga in an event which took place at Teanol Cafe, Jambi, Sunday (17/3/2024), said that Jambi province has diverse creative economic potential. Thus, the tourism and creative economy ecosystem needs to be strengthened and developed in an effort to create 4.4 million new jobs by 2024.
"We present Kelana Nusantara to strengthen the creative economic ecosystem and we saw the potential to open up business opportunities and employment opportunities," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga.
The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy also encouraged the Jambi City Government to submit a Creative District/City test (KaTa) to determine which subsectors are superior in Jambi. Bearing in mind that most of the creative economy actors come from MSME actors who contribute 97 percent of employment in Indonesia.
"MSMEs create jobs. If we empower MSMEs, job opportunities in Jambi will be wide open," he said.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga also had a discussion with one of the participants who attended this event. Hasan, the creative creative actor, said that it was necessary to hold national and international class events in Jambi so that tourist visits could increase and sales of creative creative products to be used as souvenirs would also increase.
Responding to this, Sandiaga said that Jambi has many events which are believed to be able to increase tourist visits. His party, in collaboration with the Jambi Provincial Government, will also present a creative hub so that creative and creative actors in Jambi can increase the potential they already have.
"We will push this forward through collaboration with the Governor and the Acting Mayor. We will prepare this through special allocation funds (DAK)," said Sandiaga.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Jambi, Al Haris, said that his party is currently encouraging the creative and creative potential in his region. "Ultimately we want the people to be prosperous, so we hope that there will be a lot of support for our efforts," said Haris.
In this event, Sandiaga was accompanied by the Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Hariyanto; and Director of Creative Economy Infrastructure at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Oneng Setya Harini. Also present were Pj. Mayor of Jambi, Sri Purwaningsih.
