Jambi, 17 March 2024 - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno continued his working visit to Jambi by visiting the Pangkal Babu Mangrove Tourism, Kuala Tungkal, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Sunday (17/ 3/2024).
After the tour, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga expressed his appreciation for the development of Pangkal Babu Mangrove Tourism as one of the choices of natural tourist destinations in Jambi, especially in West Tanjung Jabung. Apart from that, the presence of the Pangkal Babu Mangrove Tourism is also believed to be able to reduce the amount of carbon emissions and absorb dangerous metal content in the waters of West Tanjung Jabung.
Therefore, there are several things that need to be addressed so that this destination can become better known and more easily accessible to tourists. So that the community's economy can improve and become more prosperous.
"Of course we have to fix this in terms of interconnectivity, accessibility in terms of transportation," said Sandiaga.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga hopes that the ecosystem in Pangkal Babu Mangrove Tourism will be maintained in its beauty by relevant stakeholders and the local community. He also advised the public to pay attention to the importance of maintaining environmental sustainability by reforestation.
"I hope that this ecosystem and ecotourism will be maintained for our lives and hopefully it will be even better in the future," he said.
In this event, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga was accompanied by the Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf, Hariyanto; Director of Regional Destination Development I Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf, Sri Utari Widyastuti; and Director of Creative Economy Infrastructure at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Oneng Setya Harini.
Also present were the Governor of Jambi, Al Haris and the Regent of West Tanjung Jabung, Anwar Sadat.
