This foreign tourist levy aims to protect the arts and culture, customs, traditions and local wisdom of the Balinese people. Apart from improving the quality of services and organizing Balinese cultural tourism, cultivating and maintaining the culture and natural environment which is a tourist attraction on the island called The Island of Paradise is also considered important.
"The launch of the Foreign Tourist Levy Program for the Protection of Bali's Culture and Natural Environment is a momentum to strengthen the foundation of culture-based Bali tourism. by jointly protecting or preserving Bali's Culture and Natural Environment," said the Acting (Pj.) Governor of Bali, S M Mahendra Jaya in his speech, at the launch of Foreign Tourists Levy in Denpasar, Monday (12/2).
Furthermore, technically, the Head of the Bali Tourism Service (Dispar), Tjokorda Bagus Pemayun, explained that every foreign tourist who visits the Island of the Gods is obliged to pay IDR 150,000 per person is paid once during the tour in Bali, and paid before they arrive in Bali. These payments continue to be valid as long as the person concerned does not leaving the territory of Indonesia, and is valid for 60 days.
This "tourism levy" also has a legal umbrella, including Law Number 5 of 2017 concerning the Advancement of Culture, Article 8 paragraphs (3) and (4), Law Number 15 of 2023 concerning Bali Province, Bali Provincial Regulation Number 4 of 2020 concerning Strengthening and Promoting Balinese Culture, Bali Provincial Regulation Number 6 of 2023 concerning Levies "For foreign tourists to protect Bali's culture and natural environment, as well as Bali Governor Regulation Number 36 of 2023 concerning Procedures for Payment of Levies for Foreign Tourists," he added.
Foreign tourists, said Tjok Bagus, will be able to make cashless payments via the Love Bali System (https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id) before leaving for Bali, to facilitate procedures upon arrival at the airport or port in Bali or while enjoying a trip to Bali. Payment can be made by accessing the Love Bali System before entering the arrival gate to Bali (https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id) or while traveling in Bali via Endpoints via the Love Bali system (hotels, travel agents, tourist attractions).
Payment Method Payment can be via credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express and JCB). bank transfer, Virtual Account, and QRIS. "This levy will come into effect on February 14 2024 to coincide with Valentine's Day and the General Election," he said.
As proof of payment, foreign tourists will receive an email from the Love Bali system containing proof of levy payment (levy voucher) and a QR Code (QR Code). “Foreign tourists, it is strongly recommended that you make payments before departure to Bali non-cash (cashless) by accessing the Love Bali System (https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id) or other systems that are available "integrated with the Love Bali system provided by the Perception Bank appointed by the Bali Provincial Government, namely PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bali," he explained.
For online payment procedures, first, foreign tourists must go through the Love Bali System to fill in data and pay fees for foreign tourists. Second, foreign tourists choose the payment method to use, such as credit cards, bank transfers, virtual accounts, and QRIS.
