Efforts to become an Intermodal Green Station Pioneer, KCIC Collaborates with the West Java Transportation Department to Present Electric Bus BRT at Tegalluar Station

March 03, 2024 | PT KCIC collaborates with the West Java Transportation Agency to provide environmentally friendly or green intermodal transportation mode integration services in the Whoosh Fast Train environment.

Collaboration takes the form of a plan to provide integration of environmentally friendly modes, in this case BTS and BRT Greater Bandung Electric Buses in the Tegalluar Station area, Bandung Regency.

KCIC Corporate Communication Manager, Emir Monti, said that the provision of environmentally friendly mode integration is in line with KCIC's commitment to supporting the use of green energy and environmentally friendly transportation.

Through this collaboration built with the West Java Transportation Service, KCIC is also trying to become a pioneer of Intermodal Green Stations in Indonesia.

"We are committed to being a pioneer in environmentally friendly transportation, including pioneering green intermodal stations. "Because of that, we support and are very open to various collaborations and innovations in terms of the use of green energy or environmentally friendly transportation," said Emir.

To realize this plan, an Electric Bus trial was carried out at Tegalluar Station on Wednesday (28/2). Trials were carried out to measure the reliability of 4 electric buses which will later be used as green intermodal at Tegalluar Station.

Apart from that, travel duration measurements and monitoring of the traffic situation are also being carried out on the BRT Bandung Electric Bus route from Tegalluar Station to community activity centers.

Emir said that the BRT Electric Bus program is a follow-up program after the implementation of the BTS Trans Metro Pansundan Route 2D (IKEA – Padalarang Station – Alun-alun Bandung) at Padalarang Station.

The provision of various advanced modes aims to make it easier for passengers to get to and from Whoosh Station. This is also one of KCIC's main focuses to continue to improve services to Whoosh passengers.

"We would like to thank UPTD Region 2 of the West Java Transportation Service for its support for KCIC's commitment to implementing Green Intermodal. "Hopefully the presence of this green intermodal will receive a good response and support from all parties," he said.
