e-Visa provides convenience for visa processing for visit to Indonesia

The launch of e-Visa provides convenience for visa processing. In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the government continues to improve and innovate, one of which is by creating digital-based public services. Recently, the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia launched the electronic visa service (e-Visa) aimed at providing ease in serving the public, especially in pandemic conditions like the current one.

Furthermore, the implementation of this e-Visa service also conveys a positive message to prospective foreign tourists who wish to visit Indonesia after the pandemic ends. By providing easy access for potential tourists, it is hoped that the development in the tourism and creative economy sectors of Indonesia will also increase post-pandemic, accompanied by preparing safe tourism destinations.

This initiative not only streamlines the visa application process but also showcases Indonesia's commitment to embracing digitalization and innovation in public services. The e-Visa system is a step towards modernizing visa procedures and adapting to the changing global landscape, ultimately contributing to the recovery and growth of the tourism industry in Indonesia.

1. With this service, Foreign Nationals (FNs) no longer need to come directly to the Indonesian Representative abroad or the Directorate General of Immigration of Indonesia to process, collect, or affix visa stickers on their passports. Through the e-Visa service, FNs intending to enter Indonesia now only need to submit a visa application online.

2. The following are the steps to apply for an e-Visa:

- Open the website https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/

- Register

- Input data and upload personal data requirements (individual/corporate)

- Wait for a notification containing the username and password

- Submit Visa Approval Application

- Log in to the application using the username and password sent

- Choose the type of visa to be applied for, input data, and upload required documents

- Make the PNBP payment (ensure that the data input and requirements are correct, as payment cannot be refunded if rejected)

- If approved, a notification will be received via email

3. It is important to follow the steps carefully and accurately to ensure a smooth and successful e-Visa application process. By utilizing this online service, FNs can save time and effort in obtaining their visas to enter Indonesia. The convenience of applying for a visa online simplifies the process and eliminates the need for physical visits to the Indonesian Representative or Immigration Directorate General.

The application for an e-Visa can be done wherever the applicant is located. The verification process will be expedited, within 2 (two) working days, and the visa will be sent to the applicant. In order to streamline bureaucracy, both the applicant and guarantor will no longer need to meet physically, but will be directly sent via email. Once Foreign Nationals (FNs) have received the e-Visa, they can immediately travel to Indonesia.

This ease of access has become one of the key points to support the development of tourism in Indonesia post-pandemic. With this innovation in place, it is hoped that prospective tourists intending to visit Indonesian tourist destinations after the pandemic will also increase.

By implementing this electronic visa system, it not only simplifies the application process but also enhances the overall experience for travelers. This digital advancement not only benefits the applicants but also contributes to the growth of the tourism sector in Indonesia, making it more convenient and efficient for both tourists and the authorities involved.
