Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Discusses Potential for Tourism and Creative Economy Cooperation with the German Government

Berlin, March 9 2024 - Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Wamenparekraf/Wakabaparekraf) Angela Tanoesoedibjo met representatives from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (Bundesministerium fur Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz/BMWK) to discuss the potential tourism and creative sector cooperation between Indonesia and Germany.

Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela Tanoesoedibjo met with the Federal Coordinator of Maritime Economy and Tourism BMWK Dieter Gerald Janecak on the sidelines of ITB Berlin, Wednesday (6/3/2024).


In her statement, Saturday (9/3/2024), Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela said she met with the Federal Coordinator for Maritime Economy and Tourism BMWK, Dieter Gerald Janecak on the sidelines of the ITB Berlin exhibition, Wednesday (6/3/2024). Angela said there were several things discussed at this meeting, namely related to tourism publication and promotion, investment in the tourism sector, as well as human resource (HR) development in the tourism sector.

"The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy oversees six tourism polytechnics and at the Bali Poltekpar there is a German language curriculum. Therefore, we want to collaborate in student and teacher exchanges with educational institutions in Germany, so that in the future we can present a German language curriculum at five polytechnics "Other tourism is under the coordination of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy," said Angela.

Apart from strengthening collaboration on human resource development, said Angela, this meeting also discussed strengthening cooperation in the creative economy sector. Where, in 2018, the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) collaborated with the German Accelerator Southeast Asia which is managed by Start2 Group and financed by BMWK.

"It is hoped that this collaboration will become stronger in efforts to advance the creative economic sectors of Indonesia and Germany," he said.

Not only that, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela mentioned the potential for green economic cooperation between Indonesia and Germany which was also discussed at this meeting. "I see that this matter must be discussed in depth because this is an opportunity for Indonesia and Germany to work together to develop the potential of a green economy as an effort to reduce the rate of climate change," said Angela.

In this meeting, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela was accompanied by Sesmenparekraf/Sestama Baparekraf, Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani; and Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Rizki Handayani.
