Head of the Buleleng Culture Service, Drs. I Nyoman Wisandika, on Friday (2/2), confirmed that this year's PKB will carry the theme "Jana Kerthi Pramaguna Wikrama" which means "Superior Human Dignity". This theme will be the basis for holding nine 2024 PKB performances, forming the basic material for the works of art that will be produced by each sekaa (art group) in each category.
The following are several performance categories that will be included in competitions and parades, such as children's gong kebyar, adult gong kebyar, women's gong kebyar, legendary gong, Baleganjur gong, peed parade, cultural parade of typical Balinese clothing by the PKK, and classical traditional arts.
"Determining the best sekaa who will represent Buleleng Regency involves a team of assessors who consider a number of criteria based on previous inventory data," explained Wisandika.
One of the interesting points in this performance is the performance of classical traditional art that is almost extinct, namely the Gambuh Dance from Anturan Village, Buleleng District. This dance, danced by male dancers, is an attraction in itself.
Apart from that, Buleleng Regency will send two pieces of Joged Tubung art, namely from Sekaa Joged Wahyuulangun, Nagasepaha Village, Buleleng District, and Sekaa Joged Mangun Semara, Selat Village, Sukasada District. Then other best Sekaa who will perform include children's gong kebyar from Sanggar Bayu Teja Budaya, Lokapaksa Village, Seririt District, women's gong kebyar from Jagratara Art Studio, Banjar Tegallenga, Kalisada Village, Seririt District, adult gong kebyar from Dharma Pradangga, Desa Tukadmungga, Buleleng District, and Sekaa Baleganjur Bala Goak Panji Sakti.
Wisandika added that the budget required for this year's PKB is estimated at IDR 575 million, sourced from the Bali Province BKK and the Buleleng APBD.
"We will make thorough preparations well in advance to ensure that the appearance of the Buleleng Regency ambassadors is better than in previous years," he said.
